What is Walk for Wards?
Established by Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal in 2007, Walk for Wards is a sponsored walk now taking place across England, Scotland and Wales, to raise vital funds to support your local hospital.
You can support any ward, department or hospital that means something to you and your family. By taking part, you can show your support for the doctors and nurses at your local hospital, and give them the funds they need to enhance care for local patients.
Walk for Wards is a great day out for you, your family and friends and the chance to join other people who care about their local NHS hospital. All that we ask is that you strive to raise as much as you can to support projects locally.
Some hospitals have organised group walks with entertainment laid on but don't worry if yours hasn't, you can still take part. Just plan a route and walk! Set off with family, friends, a pack of sandwiches, dogs, a stick, or whatever or whoever takes your fancy - all that matters is that you have a great day out in support of your local hospital.
You don't even have to do it in one day, you can break your walk into stages over time, whatever suits you suits us just as long as you get out in the fresh air and do it!
Every step you take will help make a huge difference for local patients.
Sign up for one of several organised walks taking part through the UK during June and July, or create your own wherever you would like.
